Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Walu ("the Service"), operated by Alan Fuentes, trading as tracegazer.dev, based in Buenos Aires, Argentina ("we", "our", "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Walu is a web-based personal and family finance management application. The Service allows you to manually track income, expenses, bank accounts, budgets, goals, and other financial data.

Walu is NOT a financial advisor, bank, or financial institution. We do not provide financial advice, investment recommendations, tax guidance, or any professional financial services. The Service is a tool for organizing financial information that you enter manually. Any financial decisions you make based on data displayed in Walu are your sole responsibility.

Walu does not connect to your bank accounts, credit cards, or any financial institutions. All data in the Service is entered voluntarily by you.

3. Account Registration

To use Walu, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information during registration
  • Keep your login credentials secure and confidential
  • Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
  • Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account

You may register using an email address and password, or by signing in with Google. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.

4. Free and Pro Plans

Walu offers two tiers of service:

Free Plan

The Free plan includes:

  • Up to 3 financial accounts
  • Up to 200 transactions per month
  • Up to 3 budgets and 2 savings goals
  • Up to 10 tags
  • CSV import and export
  • Single currency
  • Dashboard with charts and reports

Pro Plan ($5.99/month or $49.99/year)

The Pro plan includes everything in Free, plus:

  • Unlimited accounts, transactions, budgets, goals, and tags
  • Recurring transactions
  • Credit card management (closing dates, due dates, installments)
  • Shared spaces for families and couples
  • Multi-currency support
  • Projects for tracking specific financial goals
  • Advanced import formats (OFX, YNAB) and XLSX export
  • Priority email support

We reserve the right to modify plan features and pricing with reasonable notice. Changes will not affect your current billing period.

4.1 Launch Pricing Promotion

During our launch period (until November 20, 2026), new Pro subscribers receive a discounted founder rate. This discounted rate is locked for life, meaning it will remain unchanged for as long as your subscription remains active and in good standing.

If you cancel your subscription and later re-subscribe, the launch discount no longer applies. You will be charged the then-current standard price at the time of re-subscription.

"Locked for life" means the price will not increase due to general price changes, as long as:

  • (a) Your subscription remains continuously active (no lapses in payment)
  • (b) You do not voluntarily cancel and re-subscribe
  • (c) We are not required by law or regulation to adjust pricing

Any subscriptions started at the promotional rate will honor the locked price for as long as the subscription remains continuously active and in good standing.

5. Subscriptions and Billing

All paid subscriptions are processed by Paddle, which acts as our Merchant of Record. This means Paddle is the seller of record for your subscription and handles all billing, tax calculation, tax collection, invoicing, and payment processing.

For users in Latin America, payments may also be processed through MercadoPago.

By subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to Paddle's terms of service and authorize recurring charges at the applicable rate for your chosen billing period (monthly or annual).

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date.

6. Cancellation

You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time from your account settings or by contacting us. Upon cancellation:

  • You retain access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period
  • Your account will revert to the Free plan when the billing period ends
  • Your data is preserved and remains accessible under Free plan limits
  • No partial refunds are issued for unused time (see our Refund Policy for details)

7. Refunds

We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on your first Pro subscription. After 14 days, refunds are not available for the remaining billing period. For full details, see our Refund Policy.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Walu only for its intended purpose: personal and family finance management. You may not:

  • Use the Service for any illegal activity
  • Attempt to access other users' data or accounts
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service
  • Upload malicious content or attempt to compromise the Service's security
  • Use the Service to store data unrelated to financial management
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service
  • Intentionally overload or disrupt the Service

9. Intellectual Property

The Walu name, logo, design, code, and all associated materials are the property of tracegazer.dev. You may not use our branding, trademarks, or visual identity without explicit written permission.

The Service uses open-source software components. Their respective licenses are acknowledged and respected.

10. Your Data

You own your data. All financial information you enter into Walu belongs to you. We do not claim any ownership or intellectual property rights over your data.

You may:

  • Export all your data at any time in CSV format (or XLSX on Pro)
  • Delete any individual record at any time
  • Delete your entire account and all associated data at any time

We process your data solely to provide the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure at all times
  • Financial calculations or reports will be 100% accurate
  • The Service will meet your specific requirements
  • Any data you enter will be preserved indefinitely (although we make reasonable efforts to ensure data durability)

We are not financial advisors. Walu is a record-keeping tool. We do not guarantee any financial outcomes. You are solely responsible for your financial decisions.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, tracegazer.dev and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or financial losses arising from:

  • Your use of or inability to use the Service
  • Errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in the Service
  • Unauthorized access to your account or data
  • Financial decisions made based on data displayed in the Service

Our total liability for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or $50 USD, whichever is greater.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms of Service, engage in abusive behavior, or if we are required to do so by law. In such cases:

  • We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before or promptly after termination
  • You may request an export of your data within 30 days of termination
  • After 30 days, your data will be permanently deleted

You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it from the Settings page.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Argentina, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts of the Republic of Argentina.

14.1 Force Majeure

Neither party shall be liable for any failure or delay in performing obligations under these Terms where such failure or delay arises from circumstances beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to: natural disasters, acts of government, internet or infrastructure outages, pandemics, or failures of third-party service providers (including Supabase, Paddle, and Railway).

14.2 Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless tracegazer.dev and its affiliates from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your violation of these Terms, (b) your misuse of the Service, (c) your financial data or content uploaded to the Service, or (d) your violation of any applicable law or regulation.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you by email and/or by displaying a prominent notice within the application at least 30 days before the changes take effect.

Your continued use of Walu after the updated Terms take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you may delete your account before the new Terms take effect.
